Mindset Monday – See With Your Inner Eyes

It seems to me that to often we have tunnel vision. We only see what we want to see and more often than not we are self – centered.  I know that it’s not on purpose it is just within our human nature. As such we often miss just how amazing we as a species really are.

Some people look at a blind person and says: “Geeze it must be terrible to be blind. Can you imagine what it would be like to be blind your entire life? As a martial artist and a online marketer I thought of being blind scares the hell out of me.

I believe a good way to get the inner strength you need to accomplish your dreams, goals and desires is to draw inspiration from people who have overcome extreme circumstances. Continue reading Mindset Monday – See With Your Inner Eyes

So I Was Reading a Bruce Lee Story And…

When I was younger my kung fu hero was Bruce Lee. I mean why not that guy was one bad mother F’er. I didn’t realize all those years ago that one day I would actually be following in his foot steps kinda. I remember my father doing martial arts with me when I was 3 yr’s old.

Ya I actually have images in my brain from that far back. Though admittedly they are fading as time passes. Really though I think much of martial arts really is self development or personal development. All martial artist strive for excellence. It is this striving for perfection that separates successful people from the failures in the world.

Ironically , the only thing that is really different between the two is that the successful person doesn’t understand what it means to give up. Continue reading So I Was Reading a Bruce Lee Story And…

A Simple Change In Perception Goes A Long Way

Like many I have my good days and I have my bad days.  One day I woke up out of bed and looked in the mirror and decided where I was wasn’t a good place.  Right then and there I decided there had to be more to life than just what I had experienced.

It was at that point that I decided to make the best out of life inspite of the fact that till that moment I only experienced grief, anger, aggrivation blah, blah..

It felt like the world was against me and nothing I did worked. Perhaps the fact that I was only 20 years old at the time had a little something to do with that.  I can remember as clear as day the moment I told myself I am done with the pity party.

Something had to change and the only way for it to happen was if I got off my ass and made it happen.  Ironically it wasn’t like I had a ah ha! moment or anything like that. I just got sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Prior to this underwhelming experience I accepted everything that was dished at me. I felt inferior to others and I had about zero self – esteem.  Flash Forward to 16 years later. Today I see the world much differently I have a wonderful family. I am a badass martial artist , I play a mean guitar and I am an accomplished online marketer.

Not bad for someone who didn’t think he would make anything out of himself.

While my story isn’t particularly exciting and entirely ordinary it leads me to believe that the only thing that really changed in all of that was how I perceived myself.

The best way to change your perception is to see yourself as what you want to be, not as who you are. In fact as soon as you decide that you want to change your perception put away the old you and only focus on the new you.

Our minds are powerful, it will only respond to what you tell it to respond to. It doesn’t matter what it is, simply tell yourself that you are no longer the old you.

The only other ingredient that is needed is: Have faith and believe in yourself.

Whatever Happened To We The People?

President Abraham Lincoln was descended from S...

So I told myself I wouldn’t blog on this blog until the new year. But I keep seeing something that disturbs me. That is I see my rights as an American Citizen being slowly taken away 1 by 1.

Interestingly enough, it doesn’t seem like most Americans are concerned about this. They figure hey after what happened 9/11 we need to take more drastic measures. I don’t disagree with that, but when does taking more drastic measures interfere with our way of life?

So I wanted to sound a wake up call to all red blooded Americans who would rather fight for their freedom than die a slave to a country that lies… While smiling at you…

We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.
– Abraham Lincoln

So really I ask you my fellow Americans is this okay with you? Please speak up and tell me your opinion on the matter. I think all of our kids and future generations are at stake.

Why did we fight the revolutionary war? Why did we fight the Civil War? Why did my grandfather(s) fight in WW2? Why did my dad fight in Vietnam? I always believed a small part of it was to protect our freedom.  To live in a country free of tyranny a country were everyone has a chance to live a good life. A free life?

Is this not the case anymore, have we lost our way? Are we content allowing others to think for us and tell us what to believe?

The Dark Side Of Christmas Or Is It?

I created this video back in 2009 using animoto. I thought it would be a nice way to wish all my email list subscribers and blog readers a Merry Christmas. I hope all of you have a wonderful family filled day.

When I 5 years old I remember trying to to stay up to catch a glimpse of old saint nick. Every year I tried, but always managed to fall asleep before he came. As time when on all the wonder and magic of Christmas left my soul. In place of it came commercialism.  Kinda like in the story of the Christmas Carol I have tried to always keep Christmas merry.

Recently a friend reminded me that the truth about Christmas. One of the happiest days for me and my family is of course christmas.  I do teach my children that many many moons ago, a child was born who became the king of kings and lords of lords. But the truth is nobody really knows the day Jesus was born.

I believe that to many people debate things that really have no significance or in 2011 even matter. What matters is that each of us does our best to be respectful of our global community.  There really is enough room on the planet for everyone.

Another blow came to me once I realized Christmas isn’t what I thought it was.

While I can’t say I actually agree with the message of Christmas , I also don’t think the holiday is hurting anyone. I told myself when I got older that I wouldn’t celebrate the day. But I find myself doing it. But I look at the day as any other day.. For me Christmas is a time I can get together with my family and connect and enjoy each others company.

A Christmas Message From An Unsuspecting Place
