Generation X The Lost Generation And Thanksgiving..

It’s strange us gen Xer’s are all grown up now. We missed the Vietnam war and those of us that joined the military only did it because we felt like it was the right thing to do.

Most of our parents got divorced.  When I was younger we still went outside and made tree forts and played. Our kids spend to much time in front of the computer and tv and video games. Sure we had them when we were growing up but we still preferred to be outside.

Times have changed.. Generation X is now faced with a ever growing slew of problems. The economy sucks, were still fighting wars in foreign countries and it seems like the cost of everything just continues to rise.

I remember a time when you could catch a matinee movie for a $1. Our parents could watch them for a Dime. The point is it is getting harder and harder for us to figure out how to make ends meet.

It isn’t like we trust social security will be there for us. We know that big corporations don’t really care about us. And it seems all anyone wants from us is more money.

What Does Generation X Stand For?

I think most of us are just looking to enjoy a stable life. We as a generation aren’t racist. We are really sick of wars. We are sick and tired of the boomers who keep passing laws that are absolutely pointless.

I would say Xer’s lives are pretty mundane life. We wake up , we work , we party, we do it again the next week. Future? You say… I don’t think most of us ever really think about it. I bet we are the first generation to really live in the moment…….

Well it’s the holiday season again. If there is one memory of my child hood that I will always cherish it is watching the macy’s parade on tv smelling all the yummy food being pre-pared for our Thanks Giving feast.

I think most important as a gen Xer I am grateful for the people who are in my life…

How Bad Do You Want It?

We all want something? The question is how bad do you want that something? I remember being in high school knowing

that what I was wanting out of life school wasn’t preparing me for.  It was about 9th grade when I realized that what school was offering me I wasn’t interested in.

So I dropped out of school! I did what probably all other drop outs did I partied and worked. Fast forward real fast! I have 2 regrets when it comes to dropping out of high school.

  • 1. I wish I paid more attention in English class.
  • 2. I wish I paid more attention in math class.

So all you kiddies out there reading this. I dropped out of high school, went back and got my G.E.D and even went to college.  So stay in school, dropping out is stupid.. Just do your time or you will have to make up for it later one way or another.. With that said…

Moving Right Along!

I think that most people look for jobs because they are told to look for jobs. After all its what you do right? Go to school get a education and go get a job that pays the bills.  As a high school drop out I was forced to think about what I should do with my life.

I didn’t have parents who put money away for college for me. Come to think of it, I literally was left on my own to figure out what the hell I should do.

Finally I figured out that what I don’t want to do is be a slave to money. What I don’t want to do is wonder how I am going to pay my electric bill.  Really and perhaps selfishly what I want to do is what ever I feel like doing.

Now before you start thinking that I am lazy and selfish I am far from it. I work long hours , but I love what I do.  I love doing whatever I want to do when I want to do. I think I have a touch ADD 🙂

But it was by wanting to learn new stuff that I learned the secret to success.

That’s Right! –> I learned the secret to success and how to be successful at everything you do. By successful I mean being good at it.

  • I wanted to learn how to play guitar – So I put in the hundreds of hours that was demanded to get good at playing guitar.
  • I wanted to learn Kung Fu – Again I put in the hundreds of hours that it demands
  • I wanted to get good at marketing on the internet – “” ____””  I think you get the point 🙂

You need 2 things to be successful in anything you want to be successful in.

  • You need a plan
  • And you need to want it bad, I mean real real bad

If you can meet those two requirements the only ingredient is putting in the long hours.. (A Must)

Because a lot of the  stuff I do online is related to internet network marketing I wanted to share this with you. In the 10+ years I have been marketing online I have been in search of a vehicle that will allow me to do whatever I want to do when I want to do it.

Did You Join Donners Party?

It’s not often that I like to talk marketing on this blog. However I recently joined a new program called Empower Network and this program caused me to shift my online marketing blog focus 100%.

While there are some people who want to take their brick and mortar business and create an online presence for their business.

Most people who are seeking online success are trying to do it through affiliate marketing. If you are one of these folks, I want to warn you not to follow Donner’s Party.

Who Are The Donners ?

The Donner Party (sometimes called the Donner–Reed Party) was a group of American pioneers who set out for California in a wagon train. Delayed by a series of mishaps, they spent the winter of 1846–47 snowbound in the Sierra Nevada. Some of the emigrants resorted to cannibalism to survive, eating those who had succumbed to starvation and sickness.

What these poor folks did was try and take a short cut. The short cut cost them their lives. In the online marketing world people are looking for the quickest way to earn money. They want to make the money so fast they end up taking wrong turns and disaster strikes.

How Not To End Up Following The Donners

Avoid affiliate companies that pay out slowly. Slow payouts make it hard for you to re-invest your profits into your business.

Only market products that you have purchased. If you are going to recommend to people products you should have also bought the product.

In my opinion it is unethical to sell something that you haven’t purchased.  Besides you can’t do a good review unless you actually purchased the product.

If the Donner party stayed on their original course they would have avoided disaster. There is a right way to get your online marketing business going.

Start with marketing a product where you can earn 100% commissions paid directly into your account.  I recently re-invested some of my time and started learning some new marketing principles. I was guilty of following the donners, but I have seen the light.

If you are feeling kinda lost right now. If you haven’t had the success you hoped for online don’t give up. I recently joined the empower network and it turned my frown upside down 🙂

Halloween A Frightful Night OF Horror And Candy!

I have noticed on the television that every channel is blasting scary movies. We have our children dress up in costumes. What exactly are “we” celebrating? I am not talking about why people celebrated it in the past. I wanna know why people celebrate it today?

Why exactly do we allow our children run around door to door asking for treats. It sounds like harmless fun. But lets really look at the face of halloween.

As you can see from these videos, honestly halloween is about killing, murdering, lust,destruction,chaos. Now I like me a good horror movie but it seems a bit much to actually glorify it.

We see it as harmless but I remember when I was pre-teen trying to contact spirits , demons or whatever on halloween. Of course it was scary, what if a vampire came after us or something.

My point is some peoples minds are very easily influenced is this holiday really a good day worth celebrating?
