Have You Bough A Dell Computer?

I don’t like to talk crap on a company but my recent situation really fired me up. Let me explain what happened to me.

About a month ago my Dell computer just stopped working.  Yes my computer just stopped working out of nowhere. My computer wouldn’t boot period. The fans were spinning and I was getting an error message, so I called Dell up for support.

I figured since I had a Dell Computer I would call their support up.

My Phone Conversation With A Dell Computer Tech

Firstly, I am not racist in any sense of the word. I really wish Dell would realize that us American english speaking customers get pissed off when we have to repeat ourselves because we are talking to people who don’t speak english well.

So after explaining my problem the technician asked me to trouble shoot. I told him that I spent 3 hours looking through forums and I think I know what the problem is. The technician wasn’t hearing it. He made me spend an extra 30 minutes following his step by step trouble shoot. I am sure he was reading from a script the guy didn’t sound like he had a clue about anything.

So after a mind numbing session he said I still had a warranty and they are going to send me a mother board and heat sink fan. So I waited for 6 days …

Dell computer company drops the bomb!

After waiting 6 computerless days I called up again to ask about the situation with my Dell computer. The new tech person said, oh sorry your warranty expired didn’t you get the email? Seriously I called them up because my computer is broken how would I get the email?

Anyhow, I spend $400 on a new warranty and started the process up again. This time they sent a technician out to me. That guy came here installed the new harddrive but that didn’t solve the problem.

He called the main office up and the dell tech once again made that guy do the same troubleshooting they made me do.

Long story short in all they sent me 3 different technicians all 3 technicians was unable to help me. The last one they sent me actually crashed my hard drive.  The last guy they sent me seemed like he didn’t even know what he was doing.

After 4 weeks my problem was kinda resolved. My computer still isn’t working right. I have a new hard drive , motherboard, heat sink, graphic card.. It still runs like shit.

The first tech that came to my house thought maybe my cpu or powersupply is bad. Even after telling dell that, they still didn’t think about giving me a new cpu or powersupply.

I am writing this article because I am frustrated with how worthless Dell’s customer service is. This is a perfect example how companies really aren’t listening to consumers.

I have been using and building computers since 1994. I think I know a little something about computers.

My advice: I highly recommend that you not only back up your information on your computer. If your information is very important to you don’t just back up your stuff actually clone your hard drive. This way you will be able to get back up and running quickly.

I was totally unprepared for this happening to me. I spent 3 pain staking days trying to get all my vital information back.

Mans Best Friend – Or Atleast Mine!

My Boy’s Are Gone!

Our beloved pets come into our lives. Just when we get use to them and they become part of who we are. We are quickly reminded how precious and short life really is. I remember my dogs being young strong and healthy. Even Jackson my buddy with three legs could keep up with his brother charlie.

Jack and Charlie where like 2 peas in a pod they were best friends. Jackson passed away a few months ago and Charlie the little brown one  was never the same again.  I watched him sink quietly into obscurity. He missed his friend jackson very much you could see it on his face. I am happy though that they are once again together.

I will miss you guys!

Movies Have Gotten Much More Epic Over The Years

It’s funny I am going to say this.. But when I was a kid movies where much different.  I remember watching re-runs of Gone With The Wind, I thought that movie was entirely too long but it did have one of the best one liners in history! This was one long movie, in fact it was the first movie I seen with an intermission lols.

But that’s not really why I am writing this post

I am writing this post to talk about the last Harry Potter movie “Deathly Hollows 2” it is sad to watch the Harry Potter kids grow up. I think its the first movie where you literally watch the kids grow up before your eyes.

If you haven’t had a chance the last Harry Potter movie was excellent. In my opinion this movie series will be one of the great ones up there with some of the best movies that ever came out.

Happy Easter – Pagan Easter – Christian Easter?

Easter Eggs by Mystaric on Flickr

Today is Easter Sunday. Among my friends we have discussed if Easter should be celebrated as a christian holiday. While I will admit that Easter does have it’s roots in pagan roots as seen in these articles.

Where did Easter Come From

Last night I hid Easter eggs for my daughters. It is a practice that I am not found of , but I know both of my girls where looking forward to looking for the eggs that the Easter bunny would leave.  I admit it was fun watching them scurry around the house looking for the eggs filled with goodies.

I think remembering Jesus Christ is very important. I make sure my daughters understand the significance of the day.  Most of the conversations I have had usually come down to 2 mindsets.

1. Christians shouldn’t celebrate Easter as a religious holiday

2. It doesn’t matter if a christian does or not because it symbolizes the death and resurrection of Jesus

Whatever a person believes what is important is that here in the United States we have the freedom to decide for ourselves what to believe.  As a christian American I am grateful to live in a country where I don’t have to hide my religious views.

One of the arguments is that many of the rituals in Easter are pagan by nature.

I think that when the bible was written, many of the words meant something different than they do today.  Take Easter eggs for example, I am pretty sure dyed eggs were given as sacrifice in the name of some pagan god or another.. But my daughters associate easter eggs with chocolate.  Our morning easter egg hunt was fun and nothing more.

I do think it is important that we remember why we are celebrating on this day though.  We aren’t celebrating the easter bunny, a goddess, or commercialism. Instead we have this day to remember how much god loves us.

It is a good feeling to know that life doesn’t end on this planet. That one day we will be taken to be with the lord and live for eternity. Whatever you believe I do hope you have a nice day with your family.
