It’s Almost Time For A Change on Larry Rivera

I figured I would stop by and do a blog post. I haven’t been posting here as frequently as I would like to. Nor have I given this site the love it deserves. Partly because I spread myself out thin and have several projects on the table.

Partly because I am not sure what to do with this blog.  Don’t get me wrong, I realize that this is my name and I should be focusing on personal brand better than I am. Even though I realize the importance of it, I have never considered myself a professional kinda a guy.

I am more of a hoodie and sweatpants kind of guy. I dare say, some folks would say my style is that of a homeless person.  I have all sorts of social networking accounts, websites and all that jazz.

What I realized most: Is I am growing up so to speak. I’ve begun to clean up my other websites. I am actually getting some solid direction. For many years I have played in the affiliate marketing/network marketing game.  Let me just say from experience that doing anything related to the online home business niche is hard. Not because the “work” is hard. Rather the competition is fierce. You really have to be on top of your game to compete in it.

I do plan on cleaning this blog up. I will start to do that after I launch my new site EnterShaolin.com

Oh ya, I forgot. I actually decided to follow my passion finally and focus a good portion of my time working on my martial arts stuff.  Part of me wants to make LarryRivera.com more professional. However part of me still wants to keep more of like a journal style blog where I just talk about whatever comes to mind.

Anyhow, enough of this rant…

I am having a great time doing the home business thing. So many people start home businesses only to get a bad taste in their mouth and eventually give up.

Soprano’s Gangster Style Mob Hit In The Heart Of Jersey

…So I need to give you some back story on this one.

3 weeks ago I was having one of my typical bike rides in my back yard. (The Pine Barrens Of New Jersey).  If your wondering if I ever seen the Jersey Devil the answer is NO! Believe me I grew up around here and played in the woods most of my life. I never seen the jersey devil.

But that isn’t what this post is about.

I just want share something with you that I found oddly New Jersey ish, I think this picture I got says it all. I think if you live in New Jersey you will appreciate this. I always liked the show that aired on HBO The Soprono’s .  It was only a matter of time before someone exploited the show.

I took those pictures last Sunday. I never see that car around during the week, just on Sundays.  It’s also important to mention that there isn’t a pizza shop named that anywheres near my house. In fact the place is empty. I looked around and did some investigating I never found a person.

So I did what any other New Jersey citizen did. I got the hell otta there! 🙂

The Dark Side Of Christmas Or Is It?

I created this video back in 2009 using animoto. I thought it would be a nice way to wish all my email list subscribers and blog readers a Merry Christmas. I hope all of you have a wonderful family filled day.

When I 5 years old I remember trying to to stay up to catch a glimpse of old saint nick. Every year I tried, but always managed to fall asleep before he came. As time when on all the wonder and magic of Christmas left my soul. In place of it came commercialism.  Kinda like in the story of the Christmas Carol I have tried to always keep Christmas merry.

Recently a friend reminded me that the truth about Christmas. One of the happiest days for me and my family is of course christmas.  I do teach my children that many many moons ago, a child was born who became the king of kings and lords of lords. But the truth is nobody really knows the day Jesus was born.

I believe that to many people debate things that really have no significance or in 2011 even matter. What matters is that each of us does our best to be respectful of our global community.  There really is enough room on the planet for everyone.

Another blow came to me once I realized Christmas isn’t what I thought it was.

 

While I can’t say I actually agree with the message of Christmas , I also don’t think the holiday is hurting anyone. I told myself when I got older that I wouldn’t celebrate the day. But I find myself doing it. But I look at the day as any other day.. For me Christmas is a time I can get together with my family and connect and enjoy each others company.

 

A Christmas Message From An Unsuspecting Place

So I saw this video for the first time a few weeks ago. I am surprised I never heard this speech.  I even enjoy looking for uplifting and inspiring speeches. This seems very appropriate for the time of year….

I have a lot on my plate as we look to 2012 – So I don’t think I will write another post here until next year 🙂
