Everyone has a story right? Well you do if you are involved in any type of direct sales business. I never thought I had much of a story but some of my friends think that I should share mine because it will help me build my business better. Maybe they are right. I hope you gain value and insight from reading this blog post. At bare minimum I hope you get inspired to not let anything hold you back.
It goes something like this:
I started marketing on the internet over 12 years ago as of the time of this writing. I am only saying that because when you write stuff on the internet it has a tendency to stick around for awhile if you know what I mean. Like most people I was eager to get started trying to sell stuff online. Of course I had no idea what I was doing but I set my mind to learning how.
…Over 50 thousand dollars later I found myself broke, confused and desperate.
I can’t say in my early years of marketing I made much money, but I sure did spend a hell of a lot. I had to because nobody was freely showing me how to *really go out there and make it happen. But my story actually starts much earlier than that.
I would like to go back to my Junior year in High School. I was one of those kids who just didn’t like going to school. I couldn’t figure out what the point of it was. I had no desire to go to college. I was just eager to go make a name for myself and earn my keep.
Little did I know that dropping out of school probably was a very bad idea. Who would have ever thought I would actually use writing skills. Even now, I blog in over 10 blogs I know my grammer is terrible, I know my spelling is horrendous but I do it anyways.
To be perfectly honest with you, I found blogging to be the only way I could actually afford to be in business online. After nearly loosing my shirt online, I figured out how to play the game safely and I figured out how to leverage the internet in my favor.
See I do something that most people who make money online don’t do. That is to say I build my online business without spending hardly any money in advertising at all. Think about that for a minute. I know people who spend a thousand dollars a month in advertising who don’t do as well as me when it comes to getting traffic, leads and sign ups. I think this is part of my story that is interesting. There are people out there today trying to sell you into businesses, telling you how hard you have to work.
My message is a little different. I hardly spend any money on advertising, I hardly spend any effort in doing anything actually, yet my business keeps growing month after month.
